Five Important people
•Qin Shi Huangdi- Qin Shi Huangdi was the first emperor of the short lived "Qin Dynasty." He gave himself the name "The First Emperor" After unifying all of china into one country for the first time in chinese history. After unifying China, he and his chief advisor Li Si passed a series of major economic and political reforms.He undertook gigantic projects, including building and unifying various sections of the Great Wall of China. Qin Shi Huangdi also built the enormously sized mausoleum guarded by the life-sized Terracotta Army.
•Qin Er Shi (Huhai)- Supposed to be the second emperor of the Qin Dynasty He was the air to the throne underneath Qin Shi Huangdi. Of course, the short live Qin Dynasty didn't last long enough for him to be a very effective leader in the long run.
•Li Si- He was an influential prime minister under Qin Shi Huangdi. A powerful minister, he was central to the state's policies, including those on military conquest, draconian centralization of state control, standardization of weights, measures and the written script, and persecution of Confucianism and opponents of Legalism.
•Meng Yi- He was the youger brother of a pervious general, Meng Tian. Meng Yi was very close and trusted with Qin Shi Huangdi. He gained the honor of standing with him, and riding in the emperor's personal carriage.
•Zhao Gao- Considered as one of the most corrupt, villainous, violent and powerful eunuchs in Chinese history. When Zhao was a minor official, he committed a crime punishable by death. Meng Yi was the official in charge of sentencing and he sentenced Zhao to death and removed him from the officials list as instructed by Qin Shi Huangdi, but this was later pardoned by Qin Shi Huangdi.
